The last few weeks have seen us overcome a number of challenges, and we would like to thank our fans, customers, and everyone involved with fastjet for their continued patience and support during this time.
fastjet CEO and Interim Chairman Ed Winter comments:
"The South African Department of Transport has completed its review of the additional documents it requested and has issued an updated Foreign Operator Permit. fastjet is delighted that, in line with our expansion strategy, operations can now commence on this route.
"Until now, flying between Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg has been prohibitively expensive for many people. The launch of this service offers a new, affordable and reliable option to both Tanzanians and South Africans."
We are very proud and excited to be cleared for take off on our new route, which is a huge step forward in our plans to become Africa’s low cost airline of choice.  Our first flight takes off from Dar es Salaam's Julius Nyerere International Airport in Tanzania at 09h15 this Friday morning en route to Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport in South Africa, arriving in South Africa at 11h45, local time.
Flights between the two cities will operate three times a week on MondaysWednesdays and Fridays, increasing in frequency as soon as consumer demand dictates. We look forward to welcoming you on board!
