Reports coming from State House indicate that the Malawi Government has declared the Tanzanian High Commissioner to Malawi, Patrick Tsere, as a persona-non-grata.

This follows his interview with Zodiak Malawi where he made it crystal clear that part of Lake Malawi is owned by Tanzania.

The report just came hours after the president told the press in Lilongwe that she has called off the talks following reports that Tanzania had sent soldiers to patrol their alleged part of the lake.

The reports indicate that Tsere has been given 48 hours to leave Malawi.

This is coming hours after Malawi had pulled out of the talks accusing Tanzania of playing double standards.

The Malawi president accused the Tanzanian government for sending soldiers to patrol the lake. The reports indicate that the soldiers harassed Malawian fishermen found in the part of the lake under dispute.

The developments have kindled memories when the British High Commissioner to Malawi was deported by the previous regime of Bingu wa Mutharika.

Other unconfirmed reports indicate that the talks have resumed
