The Government has said that it will not back down on its resolve to end the Lake Nyasa border conflict with Malawi stressing that a solution will be found before 2015.

The announcement was made recently by Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Bernard Membe when he addressed the Mbeya regional Defense and Security Committee just before he travelled to Kyela District where he met with elders living on the shores of the lake.

“…we will make sure that we collect enough evidence to win the case…’’ he said.

The Minister told the residents of Katumba and Matema wards to live in peace and harmony and that no attacks will be carried out against them.

“…President Kikwete has promised to resolve the issue ….so you don’t have to fear anything...” he assured the villagers.
