Print, online, radio and TV journalists employed by the local media in African countries are invited to submit an application individually or in a group.
The Forum for African Investigative Reporters (FAIR) is announcing the 2013 African Investigative Journalism Awards.
The categories include health, culture, elections, ecology, finance /business, investigative commentary/analysis, photojournalism, philanthropy, politics, war and conflict.
Category winners will receive US$500 and category runners-up, US$250.
The submitted journalistic item or extract from a series of journalistic pieces must have been published in print or broadcast between July 1, 2012 and July 31, 2013.
The documents must be submitted in either English, French or Portuguese.
The deadline is Nov. 10.
