First time snowfall in history of Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jawf region saw snow blanket its desert landscape for the first time in recorded history, following intense rain and hailstorms.

Driven by a low-pressure system from the Arabian Sea, moisture-laden air collided with desert heat to create this rare winter phenomenon, transforming the usually arid sand dunes into a scene reminiscent of snowy mountains.

While beautiful, the Saudi weather department has cautioned residents to brace for continued intense weather.
