Things we miss most when we leave Dubai

 Dubai has spoiled me, I believe. I'm too accustomed to getting somewhere 13 kilometers away in precisely 13 minutes. I therefore have to deliberately stop myself from gritting my teeth when it suddenly takes me forty minutes to get somewhere that is only fifteen minutes away.

And when you leave, believing you're ready to trade the desert for lush suburbs and a gentler pace of life, you wind up missing a lot of things, even that. However, after a week (or, perhaps a day), you'll start to want for things you never would have imagined.
We thus conducted a survey in the Gulf News newsroom to find out what people miss—in private or not—when they depart Dubai.
