As Abu Dhabi gradually moves towards becoming a cashless society, a major announcement has been made that tourists will want to know about.
The Central Bank of the UAE has launched a new initiative which will allow tourists to instantly open digital bank accounts upon arrival in the country.
Launched as a collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), the Tourist Identity scheme will reduce the reliance on paper cash transactions for visitors.
