Abu Dhabi Airport Set to Transform Travel with Bitcoin Payments

Abu Dhabi Airports is working on a new way for travelers to pay at Zayed International Airport. The airport is testing Bitcoin payments and other crypto payments to improve the travel experience.
The plan allows passengers to use Bitcoin, stablecoins, and other digital assets for shopping and dining. These payments may work at retail stores, restaurants, and duty-free outlets inside the airport. The project is still in the testing phase, so crypto payments are not live everywhere yet.
Partnership and Regulatory Support
The project runs in partnership with Al Hail Holding and fintech company Xare. The system also follows strict rules set by Abu Dhabi Global Market and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. This setup keeps the system safe and fully regulated.
The pilot focuses on making payments simple and fast. Developers are testing how the digital wallet works and how quickly payments settle. Stablecoins help reduce price changes, which makes crypto payments more stable for daily use.
