Government Services Become Faster with AI
One of the biggest changes came in 2026 when the UAE government announced a major plan to move 50% of federal government services to Agentic AI within the next two years. This makes the UAE the first country in the world to take such a major step toward AI-based government operations. Agentic AI systems can study large amounts of data, understand patterns, and complete tasks with very little human support. This helps government departments save time and improve service quality while reducing manual work.
UAE Pass Creates One Digital Identity System
A major part of this digital growth is UAE Pass, the country’s national digital identity system. At present, more than 11 million people use this platform. The system gives access to over 15,000 public and private sector services through one secure account.
Important services such as healthcare, education, banking, legal work, and license applications all come under this single system. Recent reports show a 96% user satisfaction rate, which proves that people find the system useful, simple, and highly reliable.
Less Bureaucracy Saves Time and Money
The UAE government also introduced the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme to remove slow and unnecessary administrative work. During the first stage of this program, more than 4,000 extra government procedures disappeared. Given this change, service delivery time fell by more than 70%.
Experts estimate that this step saves nearly 12 million working hours every year, which creates an economic value of around AED 1.12 billion annually. This shows how proper use of data helps governments identify problems and improve efficiency.
Education Services Become More Efficient
The education sector has also seen major improvement. In June 2026, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched a new digital system for student services. Earlier, universities and students had to depend on 38 separate electronic services. After the new update, that number dropped to only 18 connected digital services. AI now helps process requests faster and reduces delays for students and educational institutions.
The next key development took place in June 2025 when the UAE established an Artificial Intelligence and Data Authority to oversee national AI systems, manage data policy and promote digital government services throughout the country. The goal of establishing this authority is to achieve improved innovation, quicker public services and enhanced global competitiveness.

Data-driven systems also improve daily life in cities such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Smart city technologies collect real-time data and help manage traffic, electricity use, water supply, security systems, and emergency services.
