2012: The latest issue of The Greenline newsletter of the Global
Environment Facility (GEF) introduces the new GEF CEO and Chairperson,
Naoko Ishii, as well as reports on recent climate change initiatives.
The
July 2012 edition of The Greenline opens with remarks from the new GEF
CEO and Chairperson, Naoko Ishii, who describes ongoing GEF involvement
in supporting and implementing the Montreal Protocol on Substances that
Deplete the Ozone Layer, as well as the success of the GEF Small Grants
Programme (SGP).
The newsletter contains an overview of the 67 GEF
climate change projects in 2012, in areas such as energy efficiency,
renewable energy, sustainable transport systems and urban development,
land use and forestry, and innovative low-carbon technologies. The new
edition also reports on initiatives such as long-term technology
transfer programmes, progress in clean energy coalitions at the UN
Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), and
