With Saudi rising as the global hub for data and artificial intelligence (AI), 2026 has officially been declared as the ‘Year of Artificial Intelligence’ in the country.
The announcement was made by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).
With 2026 officially designated the Year of Artificial Intelligence, the move aligns with Vision 2030, under which Saudi is developing AI on a global scale.
The Year of Artificial Intelligence aims to highlight the country’s efforts in this field and enhance its position as a leading global destination for data and AI.

The SDAIA revealed the logo for the Year of Artificial Intelligence, which symbolises the great development that Saudi is witnessing in the field of AI and technology.
The logo consists of three main elements, each with its own symbolism. The first component is the palm tree, which is the national symbol of the country.
It embodies vitality, growth and giving, and encapsulates the depth of the Saudi identity that has been rooted for centuries.
The second component is the two letters of the word artificial intelligence in English, AI, which reflect the technical and innovative dimension that the nation focuses on in Vision 2030.
The third element is the dot above the letter I, which symbolises fruit, meaning renewed life and continuous growth.
