All the Doha Metro rules you need to know

Children nine and under need supervision

All children aged nine and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. The person supervising them must be at least 16 years old to ensure proper safety on the vehicle.

Each passenger can only carry one piece of luggage

This rule applies to all passengers, not just those coming from Hamad International Airport. You can bring smaller bags as long as they don’t exceed 85 × 60 × 30 cm.

Food can not be consumed on the vehicle

To keep the Metro clean and avoid disturbing other passengers, food isn’t allowed on the vehicle. But you can enjoy your meals at designated eating areas in the stations or grab a bite at the restaurants and cafés inside the station before or after your ride

Guide dogs are allowed on the train

There is a strict no-animals policy on the vehicles and within stations, except for guide dogs helping blind people get around. If you bring an animal on board, they can not be left unattended and should not occupy a seat on the vehicle.

No, filming on the trains is not authorised without a permit. Filming on the Doha Metro isn’t allowed unless you have an official media permit. You should also remember that, under Qatari law, publishing someone’s photo or video without their consent can result in up to one year in prison and a QR100,000 fine.

No playing music out loud

No matter how great your taste in music, the Doha Metro isn’t the place to show it off. This Doha Metro rule applies to all passengers who are playing music out loud or performing on an instrument anywhere in the stations, which is also not allowed.

No intoxication or carrying beverages

Carrying or transporting beverages on the Doha Metro is strictly prohibited, both in stations and on trains. Passengers must also remain sober at all times to ensure the safety of everyone on board.
