The introduction of a novel variety of COVID-19, NB.1.8.1, which is presently being investigated, has been connected to an increase in COVID-19 infections, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The organization acknowledged that the new strain does not present a higher risk to health than earlier strains, but it also pointed out that additional waves of infection could result from the virus's ongoing evolution.
